American Funds has streamlined and improved our transaction confirmations based on input from investors and advisors. Multiple confirmation types will now be consolidated into one Account Confirmation.
Certain sensitive customer data also will now be masked. For example, only the last four digits of bank account numbers will appear on confirmations.
American Funds hopes these improvements will increase clarity, reduce the amount of paper and further protect investors’ privacy.
Look for these improvements this month. For an example of the changes, see the Account Confirmation sample (PDF).
Investments are not FDIC-insured, nor are they deposits of or guaranteed by a bank or any other entity, so they may lose value.
Investors should carefully consider investment objectives, risks, charges and expenses. This and other important information is contained in the fund prospectuses and summary prospectuses, which can be obtained from a financial professional and should be read carefully before investing.
